AUDITION COACHING: SCHOOL OF UNLEARNING
WHAT IS THE SCHOOL OF UNLEARNING?
Created to reconnect actors with the essence of their work, the School of Unlearning teaches actors to "forget" the confusing and contradictory things they've been told to believe. By developing an artist's sense of self, Unlearning frees actors from the constraints of expectations and helps them to develop work that is simple, engaged, compelling and marketable.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT?
Group classes at the School of Unlearning are designed for 8 STUDENTS and run for 3 hours.
Classes begin with a 16-bar group audition in true NYC style. After the audition, each student will have 20 minutes to coach any material they wish. The coaching is done in front of the rest of the class to maximize benefits for all students. The class concludes with another 16-bar group audition, giving each student the chance to incorporate the feedback they received and observed.

WHAT SHOULD BE PREPARED?
Performers can prepare one 16-bar cut with which they can then audition, coach and audition with again; they may prepare three entirely different pieces; or any combination they choose. Monologues are accepted!
WHAT DOES IT COST?
The cost for a 3-hour group Unlearning session is $50 per student. Individualized coaching sessions are $60/hour.
